fhPrintScreen is organized in two separate parts:
· A wizard allows you to get started rapidly and easily with the basic functions. When you use it to install the basic behavior, you are able to print the content of your screen on your current printer, using it’s current settings, in landscape just by clicking on a QuickLaunch icon or pressing CTRL-ALT-P. Lots of user are happy with this level of use and never need to explore the advanced settings.
· But if you want more, fhPrintScreen main interface gives you much more control. Basically, fhPrintScreen allows you to specify multiple shortcuts (either mouse or keyboard), each of them accomplishing one particular thing that you specified here. By example, you can have one mouse shortcut in the QuickLaunch area to print your screen on your current printer, and one keyboard shortcut (CTRL-ALT-H like Help) to print your screen in an image file in a directory on the support server. You can add new shortcuts anytime you want.
The Main Interface allows you to do the following things: · Choose a target (printer, image file, pdf...) · Establish the appropriate settings for the chosen target (landscape or portrait if it's a printer, type of images, directories if it's not...) · Save these ‘settings’ under a name · Reload any saved settings · Create a Keyboard shortcut (also named Hotkey), like CTRL-ALT-P · Create a mouse shortcut in the QuickLaunch area · Print the screen directly (which means that you can create a lot of different settings that you are not using often, NOT create a shortcut for them in order not to clutter up your windows, and simply load them in the main interface when necessary and print the screen accordingly). · You can also just change the setting for an on-the-fly print screen.
