Who is using fhPrintScreen and Why?
Lots of different people, and for many reasons... Here are some examples:
Of course, everyday use of fhPrintScreen covers a wide variety of needs. Generally using the basic behavior, users print the content of their screen in order to: · Remember something · Print something from a window where there is no printing function · Quickly print part of a big document (by example part of a technical documentation or the schematic finally found on the web before going to the garage to tinker with the engine...) · After zooming on a detail in a big image, being able to print the result instead of only the whole thing…
IT people typically install fhPrintScreen on their users machines in order for them to be able to print the screen when a problem occurs, giving them the whole context, precise error message, and so on. They generally use the advanced settings to generate an image file, often directly in a directory on the IT server. As fhPrintScreen allows to define the image name and directory of creation, it's easy to have a filename containing the user name and the date and time of the incident, and to choose a directory accessible by all users, but directly on the IT server (no extra transmission necessary).
Marketing people typically use it to print their screen on paper, after opening on their screen several documents (often from different applications). This gives them an easy reminder of all the important points of a problem when going to a meeting with their boss or even a customer. Of course, as it's perfectly possible to do different things on the same machine with fhPrintScreen, they can also send details of their technical problems to the IT guys using the technique described above.
Software developers typically use fhPrintScreen to create their software's help. They can go through a whole sets of operations in their software, generating a different image each time in their help file directory. When the whole function has been 'imaged', they can open their help construction tool, link the images in it, and comment each step easily. fhPrintScreen allows you to automatically add the system date and/or time in the images names, and therefore generating tens of images one after another is very easy. |
